Man Cave Sheds

Like your house, a shed is framed with wood and then a structural panel is added on the outside of the framing. To make the shed livable as a Tiny House, Man cave, or She Shed you will need a few modifications: upgrade to the insulated windows and doors, add insulation, and install electric (and plumbing if desired). Keep in mind that if the shed will be used for a permanent living space, your town may have requirements and restrictions on how the structure is designed or finished. Living in a structure brings it under the international building code and that does require more approvals.

The best insulation for a workshop shed depends on your climate and budget. Spray foam insulation provides the best thermal efficiency and air sealing but is the most expensive. Rigid foam board insulation is a durable and moisture-resistant option, while fiberglass batts are cost-effective but require a vapor barrier. For extreme temperatures, consider insulated doors and windows, along with proper ventilation, to maintain a comfortable workspace year-round.

Keeping your workshop shed organized is key to maximizing efficiency. Wall-mounted pegboards, shelving units, and tool cabinets keep frequently used items within reach, while under-workbench drawers and rolling tool chests help store smaller tools and hardware. If you have limited space, ceiling-mounted racks, magnetic strips, and foldable workbenches can help free up floor space. A well-organized workshop makes it easier to work efficiently and keeps tools protected.

Our sheds, single car garages, and modular designs come standard with a wooden floor. If you purchase a two car garage or larger garage (considered a permanent structure) a concrete pad or foundation is required and will act as the floor of the building.
