How Paul Found His Custom Garage

Paul’s original plan was to work with a local builder in the Granite Falls, North Carolina area. But as he shared his ideas, he kept running into the same roadblocks.

“[Other contractors] either wouldn’t follow my design, or they were just too expensive.”

Frustrated, he turned back to online research and came across Sheds Unlimited. After working with the Sheds Unlimited team, Paul quickly realized how different this experience was from other building options he had explored.

The coordination, delivery, and on-site assembly all went exactly as planned — easing one of Paul’s biggest concerns about working with a company based out of state.

I wondered how they were going to get it all the way down here from Pennsylvania, but they told me, ‘We’ve done this a lot. We’ve got it.’ And they were right…It was amazing, the whole neighborhood had lawn chairs out watching them work.

A Personalized Space

Paul points to several favorite aspects of his finished building, each one closely tied to how he envisioned using the space in retirement and with his family.

The lower level has become a natural gathering spot near the pool, complete with a restroom, shower, and room to relax with family and friends. It’s where birthdays, casual get-togethers, and quiet evenings now take place.

Looking ahead, the unfinished attic represents possibility. Planned as a future studio for art and creative work, it gives Paul the freedom to finish the space on his own timeline—one more example of how the building was designed not just for today, but for the years ahead.

It completed the pool setting for us, this is the space I had in mind when I started.
