Steps to Installing this Amish Garage

Installation of a pre-manufactured Amish Car Garage is a quick event. After arrival, the building is put in place, then anchored via the 6×6 perimeter on this portable Amish garage. After anchoring, the 6×6’s are removed from the doors and a few finishing touches will give you a portable building on a prepared concrete pad for MUCH LESS than an Amish Garage built on site.

1. Building and Delivery of the Amish-Built Garage

The prefab car garage starts out in the Sheds Unlimited manufacturing facility in Lancaster County, PA. There the floor is substituted with a pressure-treated 6×6 perimeter around the outside edge of the building. This provides both an anchor point into the concrete and stability for the building during delivery. After our Amish Garage Builders complete the building, the car garage is loaded onto a trailer for delivery to PA, NJ, NY, CT, MD, VA, WV, and beyond.

2. Placing the Prefabricated Amish Garage on the Pad

We work hard to place the Amish Built Garage perfectly on the pad to ensure water drainage. The pad should be built exactly the size of the building on order so that the water will drain down over the pad. Note the rounded edge on the pad. This will keep water from entering under the perimeter of the building into the interior. If you wish to have a seal between the pad and the 6×6s, there will be an additional charge.

3. Anchoring the Amish Built Car Garage

When the car garage is in its proper position we offer the option for the customer to anchor it to the pad or for our delivery team to do the job. Costs for the anchoring vary depending on the size of the building. If the customer wishes to anchor the building, the tools needed will include a concrete hammer drill, a Sawzall, a sledgehammer in addition to tin snips, and a hammer if the building is vinyl-sided.

4. Finishing Touches

After anchoring, the Amish Built Garage is ready to have the 6×6’s removed from the doors. Use a Sawzall with a sharp blade and cut out the 6×6 perimeter at the doors. Other finishing touches will be paint or metal trim around the door. When the anchoring is completed, the garage door will close tightly on the concrete pad. PLEASE NOTE: there should be a water table to cause water to flow away from the front of the garage.

5. The Finished Product

The entire job should be done within hours. If the Sheds Unlimited Team does the installation, the total time from arrival to departure should be around 3-4 hours. Your portable car garage will be anchored to the concrete pad and your car should have a solid foundation for decades to come.
